Goal, goals, goals - Gameweek 5 review

Football - Liverpool v Sunderland Barclays Premier LeagueGameweek 5 offered great matches and many, many goals. So no lessons for goalkeeping or defending but a huge frenzy for scorers from defenders, midfielders and forwards. There has been 36 goals scored in 10 games. That's almost 4 goals per match! Let's see how the matches turned out the way they did.

Blackburn - Wolves 3-1

Blackburn has been struggling and was for sure hoping for their first win in this years league. That they got with a 3-1 win over riserteam Wolverhampton. El-Hadji Diouf started with a goal in the 19th minute of the game. Diouf made a strong statement to be kept in the starting formation. Roberts and Dunne continued with goals number 2 and 3 in the second half, before Wolves got a little something when 88th minute brought a goal from Maierhofer.

Liverpool - Burnley 4-0

It was Yossi Benayoun's night, 3 goals and one assist gave the midfielder not only the first hattrick of the season but an amazing 24 points. Liverpool gave Burnley no chance what so ever and seems to be ready to take on the big opponents with a lot confidence.

Manchester City - Arsenal 4-2

Emmanuell Adebayor showed his last years team that City is going to be very tough team to beat by anyone in this years premier league, Adebayor himself continued with his steady one goal per match - routine. City got their first goal with a little help from Arsenal goalkeeper Almunia but after that proved that they are able to score also on their own. I'm still saying, City is going to win the championship!

Portsmouth - Bolton 2-3

Bolton took the first victory of the season with a 2-3 win over Portmouth. Bolton's hero was Gary Cahill who netted the game winning goal after 88th minute of the match.

Stoke - Chelsea 1-2

Stoke was close to become the first team to steal points from Chelsea this year as it took Chelsea well over 90 minute playtime to score the game winning goal. Maloude was the one to score the 1-2 goal during stoppage time and continue Chelsea's winning streak.

Sunderlands Darren Bent scored 2 as Sunderland ruled the game over Hull.

Hugo Rodallega made to goal that took the game for Wigan after 55th minutes and West Ham still seems to be crawling rather than running.

Tottenham started the game with a bang but ManU took over after that and put an end to Tottenham's winning streak.

Birmingham - Aston Villa 0-1

Aston Villa is making it's way up the league table and to help that climb they took 0-1 win over Birmingham with a goal scored by Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Fulham - Everton 2-1

Hopes for Everton's rise dimmed a little as Fulham took 2-1 win in their homefield. Everton led the game after first half with Cahill's goal but failed to keep the lead as Konchesky and Duff both scored to help Fulham take the game.
