Season 2010-2011 Preview

So, Spain is the new World Cup winner and it is time to take a look at the upcoming Premier League season. Season 10-11 will bring some much hoped improvements to the Fantasy Premier League game. The most important change being that you can now save your free transfers more than just one week. But then you can never have more than one saved transfer, so 2 free transfers per gameweek is the maximum.
(Thank you for pointing out my error, Anynomous :))

FPL has also added one free tranfer to January, when the tranfers-window opens in real life. Another change to consider is that from now on a player looses 2 points for scoring an own goal.

Prices for the players this season have also been published with little surprises. Three goalkeepers start with a price of £6.5M, those 3 of course being Cech from Chelsea, Reina from Liverpool and Van der Sar from ManU.

Top defenders' prices start at £7.5M. Four gentlemen rated highest are Vermaelen from Arsenal, A Cole from Chelsea, Johnson from Liverpool and Evra from ManU.

Midfielders have always been the players with the highest price in Fantasy Premier League, and this year makes no exception. The King of FPL, one Mr Frank Lampard has the pricetag of £13M, behind him are Fabregas with £12M and Gerrard with £11.5M

June 16, 2010 - Durban, South Africa - epa02205015 Spain's David Silva (R) and Switzerland's Philippe Senderos (L) during the FIFA World Cup 2010 group H preliminary round match between Spain and Switzerland at the Durban stadium in Durban, South Africa, 16 June 2010.And last but not least the Strikers. Last seasons top striker Drogba leads the pack with a price of £12.5M. Following Didier are ManU's Rooney (£12M), Torres from Liverpool (£11.5M) and Tevez from Manchester City (£10.5M)

Of course this season also brings some new players to the table, most noted being of course the tranfers of David Silva from Valencia to Manchester City. And one player tip to start of the season, goalkeeper Ben Foster who transferred from ManU to Birmingham, £4.5M doesn't sound like too bad a price...

You can never have more than one saved transfer, the wildcard is the only way to make more than two free transfers in a gameweek.
