English Premier League Results Saturday gameweek 1

CHELSEA V HULL CITY, PREMIER LEAGUE

The first matches of Premier League Fantasy Football have been played, and it's time check how did the teams do.

The real season opener Chelsea vs Hull was Didier Drogba's game. The player from Ivory Coast scored two goals and turned the game for the Blues. Hull took the lead with newcomer Stephen Hunt's goal while the matchclock was on the 27th minute. Ten minutes later Drogba evened out the score with a nice freekick from 25 yards. Chelsea had to wait for the game-winning goal way into overtime, but Drogba's second goal gave them the three points they were after.

Didier Drogba was the matches point-shark with 12 points, he would of had 13 without the yellow card he was given.

Saturdays last game was perhaps the most anticipated match of the day. Everton vs Arsenal. Everton continued the trend to start the season with lousy perfomance and lost 1-6.

Arsenal opened the match strongly and the goal that was in the air came in the 26th minute when Denilson put the ball on the net from Fabregas' assist. After that Everton really doubled their efforts, but they couldn't keep up with Arsenals fast midfielders. In half-time the match was 0-2 due to Vermaelen's debut goal he headed in from Van Persies freekick.

The second half was all Arsenal's show and the score in the end was 1-6. Embarrassing opener for Everton and truly great beginning for Arsenal, who even while only the first game played, seems like a team ready to fight for the championship.

Game's and the whole season openening day's star was Francesc Fabregas, 2 goals and 2 assist gained the midfielder unbelievable 22 points. Now he would have made a great captain for my Fantasy Premier League team...
